Ramadan series three fun activities Week 2

Read this in: اردو (Urdu)

I hope you all had a wonderful start to this blessed month. My kids are home this week so I am getting to try out a few new things. This week we shall continue with the list of three things to do. I had to try the craft so I could record it for this post.

First activity: Star and Crescent moon craft

We had a great time making this simple crescent moon and star activity. You can make it and use it for story time.

What you need you need:

  • Template for star and moon from the library, or you can free-hand draw it.
  • Cardstock or cardboard from a cereal box
  • Pencil and scissors
  • Foil cut into strips.
  • Hole punch and thread

First trace out the star and crescent shape from the template and use it to trace over the cardboard.

Cut out the cardboard shape. Then use strips of foil to wrap around and cover each shape separately.

Once covered, use a hole punch to make one hole at the top of each shape.

Lastly, tie a separate piece of thread to each shape. You can vary the lengths to make it appear more blingy.

Then tie all three pieces together and tada.

You can watch the video here.

Second activity: Dua

This week I wanted to include this beautiful dua that is so appropriate for this age of social media and misinformation.

I am making every effort to recite this as often as I can.

Third activity: Book reading

I have included this great story about being grateful and saying Alhamdulillah. The author has a beautiful message and you can buy the book as well from this link.

This is a good book for teaching children that things can seem hard but they can guide us to a better place. The author has wrotten a few other books as well. You can check out the link.

That is all I have for this week.

How is Ramadan going for you?
