The past week of Ramadan was hectic, to say the least. Since last year, I started mailing out Eidi to family in the US. It was a wonderful way to send something special to bring joy to a holiday that seldom gets much attention. This year we decided to continue that ritual.
I was able to squeeze in a quick craft as well to stay on track for this week. This week we are making a prayer doll to teach the positions of prayer. Let’s jump into the Ramadan series.

Ramadan Series Craft: Prayer doll
This week I really enjoyed creating this quick craft to make a doll that can bend to show prayer positions. My kids had a blast doing this. It took paper craft to the next level. One piece you will need to do this is called a split pin or brad. It has two thin stems that are easy to bend and act as a hinge.
What you need:
- Prayer doll template
- Split pins (affiliate link)
- Scissors and glue
- Piece of cardstock
Step -by -step instructions
First print out the template from the link above.
Then you can color the prayer rug and doll if you like. Cut out the pieces.
Glue the prayer mat onto the piece of cardstock.
Follow the video to see how the split pins join together the two pieces.
Then enjoy playing with the doll to show the position during prayer.

Ramadan series Dua for this week
I have been working on my podcast to review Atomic Habits. It is a wonderful book on practical actionable steps on changing your habits. One of the things to work on is creating a cue in your environment that helps develop that habit. I have been using dishwashing as a cue for listening to a lecture or podcast. One such lecture talks about the virtues of asking for forgiveness.
We are in the second Ashra of Ramzan and forgiveness is the essence. Hence I have a dua that talks about it.
I am trying to make a habit of reviewing the meaning behind the Dua as well.
Here is the reference for the Dua.
Ramadan Series Storytime for week four
I have been enjoying the search for storytime videos. There is some beautiful content that is out there. I found this story that makes it fun to learn about our deeds for kids.
This week I picked this beautiful book about angels that write out deeds. Here is the link for you to buy it from Amazon.
I hope you liked this story. I am really enjoying these videos as a quick way to take a break from the other books.
